Crime and Punishment

Although it has received little attention, three wannabe terrorists who were part of the Occupy Wall Street riots in Chicago protesting a NATO Conference, were recently sentenced to prison.

Even though they beat the terrorism charges, their possession of fire bombs was inescapable, and so two of the youthful rioters got five years each, and one got eight years.

I am certain that the euphoria that comes from youthful protesting against “the Man” disappears when the judge pronounces the prison time. One said that comparisons with the Boston Bombing, really hurt him, and “ripped my heart out.”

Another, now sentenced, said that the conversations overheard by Chicago police were just not serious.

Well, years in prison will certainly focus your mind to make excuses, but it will not dissuade Bubba.
